Our Mission
More Birds. More Hunters. More Opportunity.
The future of pheasant hunting should be shaped by the hunters who love it.
For generations, hunters have chased roosters through CRP, cattails, shelterbelts and grasslands. Pheasant hunting has never been only about the birds. It's early mornings with family and friends, a young hunter's first rooster, a good dog working a field, and the cackle of a flush you never get tired of hearing.
Those moments are worth protecting, and worth growing. That's why we started Pheasant Nation.
More members mean more birds in the field.
Raise · Release · Repopulate
Membership dues fund pheasant releases. As the Nation grows, so do the releases. We're building toward 10,000 members first, then 25,000, then 100,000: a nationwide community of hunters putting birds back in the field so nobody has to wonder where they've gone.
Our first releases are planned for 2027. Members see every release state, spot and date on the members-only release map in the app.
See Your Membership at Work
Members get release updates, locations and dates in the Pheasant Nation app, so you can see where your dues are going.
The Banded Bird Project
Some released birds will wear unique numbered bands. Banded birds help us learn how releases perform, and they give members a little extra to look for in the field. Details on reporting a band are coming to the app.
Supporting the Communities That Support Hunting
Small towns, landowners and local businesses keep upland hunting alive. Releases and annual banquets bring hunters back to these communities.
Protecting the Tradition
Taking your dad out one more season, passing the tradition to your kids, bringing a friend on their first hunt: that's what we're protecting. Pheasant Nation is about keeping the tradition strong for whoever comes next.
